The Mental Health America of Westmoreland County 49th Annual Dinner/Award Meeting was held Thursday at the Ramada Hotel and Conference Center east of Greensburg.
The evening?s timely theme was ?Looking Over the Horizon: Health Care Policy in 2013,? which was addressed by keynote speaker Sharon Ward, executive director of the Pennsylvania Budget and Policy Center headquartered in Harrisburg.
Board member Richard Stillwagon introduced the 2012 recipient of the Fred Funari MHA Award of Distinction, named for the former MHAWC president and presented yearly since 1982 for outstanding volunteer service.
Accepting was John Rusbosin of Unity, an area businessman and active participant in a number of community organizations.
Rusbosin was accompanied by wife Jeanne and a contingent representing his large extended family, including Nancy Rusbosin Kelly and John Kelly, Linda Rusbosin James and Tom James, Susie Rusbosin McCormick and Dr. Mark McCormick, Ed and Theresa Rusbosin, Renee Rusbosin Stallings and Janet Rusbosin Barker and Rich Barker.
Representing the Funari family were Josi Funari and Carol Funari Radkowski with Dennis Radkowski.
Also seen: MHAWC Executive Director Laurie Barnett Levine, board president Dr. Paul Niemiec, Vikki Ridenour, Donald Lawry, Molly Robb Shimko and Ken Shimko, Dana Bauer, Dirk Matson, Lynette Emerick, Rose Marie Appel, Kurt Appel and Irma Hutchinson.
Also, Martina Kaufman, Brandy Campbell, John Richert, Pamela Fisher, Phyllis Burton, Linda Parker, Felicia King, Steve and Michelle Penich, Paul and Kathy Plucker and Manny Navarro.
