A group of pexers where organizing a day tour at Burot Beach, while my co-workers wanted to go there too! So what i did was i asked our organizer, (thanks barbs!) if our group can join forces with them. She then agreed and we rented 2 vans for Php6000 each. Atleast less the stress and hassle of commuting and texting tricycle drivers to take/fetch us to and from the beach.
For commuters:
Proceed to Mcdonalds MRT Taft, along Sogo Hotel (*wink*), beside Mcdonalds, you will see vans and buses going to Calatagan as early as 4am, fare is Php180. Travel time is approximately 3-4 hours depending on the traffic (especially if you're going back to Manila!! heavy heavy traffic!) Bus stops at Calatagan Market, where you can buy your food and drinks and stuffs you need at the beach. From there, hire a public tricycle to take you to Burot Beach and to fetch you the next day or oh, common, if you wanna go home! lol
Where Pexers meet Startek's Workforce team.
Meeting place was at Mcdonalds Edsa, along LRT Edsa Taft station around 3:30am. We bought some food for breakfast while waiting for the others to arrive. Oh well, actually yesterday, we went to Cash and Carry to buy stuffs we need, like chips, bread, canned goods, and Tupperware as we planned to bring cooked rice (courtesy of mee!! :))
We dropped by the market to buy cold cuts we need for barbeque and some fruits and veggies too.
We arrived at around 8:00am, there were a LOT of people at the beach with their own tents and rented tables. Our group pitched our tents and immediately asked the caretaker if we could rent some grills so we can grill our Liempo! That's worth Php20. We also rented a bamboo bed, lol, (can't think of any words) worth Php150.
By the way, there's a small store selling cold drinks, food and ICE! (worth Php20 for small piece), too expensive but hey,we really need it for our drinking session! (right guys??)
After some barbeque-ing, our hungry stomach's were now FULL! (*burp), now time for some party party!
We actually just bought 4 "the bar" ( a kind of cheap but nice tasting liquor ) and played cards (with bet)!!
Burot Beach is a perfect place for a cheap weekend getaway!
Breakdown of expenses:
Php445 -? transportation (Manila-Burot Beach-Manila)
Php60?? -? Day tour Fee at Burot Beach
Php150 - Food and misc
Total of: Php655 (cheap eh??)
More pics:
You can also rent this floating cottage for a minimal fee.
We actually saw a lot of starfishes, sea urchins, sea cucumber and some weird looking sea creatures.
I know, this team enjoyed the beach. why? they haven't gone to any beaches and it is almost the end of summer! hahhaa! (pathetic! lol! just kidding guys!, my supervisor was actually with us! Boss, i care about my job!)
For those with kids, please be extra careful, there's a lot of (non stinging?) jellyfishes, though i have this long rashes and i know that those jellyfishes were the culprits! One in our group was stung by a sea snake and sea urchin ( do they sting?) nahhh!!! i dont know!!!
We asked the drivers if they can fetch us around 6:30pm so we can still watch the sunset!
Breathtaking view!
Elizalde Beach or Burot Beach or whatever was bought by SM. The security guard told us that SM bought 110 hectares of land, hmm, therefore, they will develop this beach to something like Punta Fuego or Hamilo Coast. naaahh!!! Good thing, i was able to go here before that happens!
On our way home, we were caught up by heavy traffic! Too hassle for commuters. I would really suggest, if you're a group of 14-15pax, please just rent a van! :)
Happy Weekend~
