(HealthDay News) -- Hormonal changes during pregnancy tend to slow digestion and relax bowel muscles, leaving many woman constipated.
The Womenshealth.gov website offers these suggestions to help curb constipation during pregnancy:
- Drink eight to 10 glasses of water per day.
- Avoid caffeine.
- Choose plenty of fiber-rich foods, including fruits, veggies and whole grains.
- Get regular, light exercise.
